The FDA approved the XIENCE Xpedition(TM) Everolimus Eluting Coronary Stent System, which is particularily beneficial for patients with complicated coronary anatomies. The XIENCE stents, manufactured by Abbott, are currently the only stents approved for direct stenting in the U.S.
