ACC Advocacy Efforts Inspire Progress on VHD Research, Education Legislation

ACC efforts to support the Cardiovascular Advances in Research and Opportunities Legacy Act (CAROL Act) are making an impact on Capitol Hill, as the bill now has 133 House cosponsors and a Senate companion. The ACC on May 12 joined with WomenHeart and other leading health care organizations in thanking Congressional leadership for introducing the bill and further explaining its significance for Americans.

"This investment will help address gaps in our understanding of heart valve disease, including what causes sudden cardiac death in a small number of people, predominantly women," the letter states. Read the full letter here.
