Get Ready for ACC.22: A Comprehensive Guide For FITs
ACC.22 is just around the corner – and we’re helping FITs prepare with this in-depth guide to navigating the event of the year taking place April 2 – 4 in Washington, DC and virtually. FITs will have unique opportunities to hone their knowledge of current medical advances and research, network with colleagues, and gain insights into nonclinical aspects of the cardiology profession. From Late-Breaking Clinical Trials to FIT Jeopardy and everything in between, learn about the must-do activities and sessions for FITs attending ACC.22.
Forums and Bootcamps
Three FIT Forums – Stump the Professor, FIT Mix 'n' Mingle and FIT Jeopardy: Battle of the Chapters Competition – are on the must-do-agenda for FITs. In addition, for those interested in interventional cardiology, two dedicated FIT Boot Camp sessions are part of the ACC.22 Interventional and Structural Learning Pathway. One session will focus on coronary topics such as PCI, stable angina and challenging lesions and patients, while the other will focus on noncoronary topics such as TAVR, mitral interventions, peripheral "disasters," and case-based examinations of the contemporary management of pulmonary embolism.
FIT Jeopardy
FIT Jeopardy is back live and in-person on the Engage Stage during ACC.22. The preliminary competitions will take place on April 2 from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. ET and 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. ET, with semi-finalists battling it out on April 3 from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. ET for a spot in the Finals later in the day. The finals, which will be live streamed on social media, will take place on April 3 from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. ET.
Build Your Network
Having a mentor can help to navigate career decisions, develop research and sponsorship proposals and even learn how to get published. Learn more about mentorship in the WIC Lounge on April 2 from 3:00 to 4:15 p.m. ET with 5006. Mentorship in Clinical Trial Research Leadership and on April 3 from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. ET with 5004. In addition, FITs can rub elbows with mentors and ask questions of leaders in the field during the annual FIT Mix 'n' Mingle on April 2 from 5 to 6 p.m. ET. After that, be sure to head over to The Future of Cardiology Reception, also on April 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. ET.
Lastly, don’t miss the Peer-to-Peer Mentorship Event in the Member Hub Lounge on April 3 from 8 – 10 a.m. where Tripti Gupta, MD, an FIT member, will discuss her experience with the community and how it can help ACC members achieve their goals.
