In a recent Leadership Page published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, ACC President C. Michael Valentine, MD, FACC, discusses the College's new international vision, noting that a global approach to transforming cardiovascular care and improving heart health is needed. The ACC is uniquely positioned to overcome the different challenges faced by individual countries and regions. International governors, chapters and collaborations with international cardiovascular societies have allowed the College to make real progress. "The ACC exists because of its members – no matter where they live and work," Valentine writes. "While we may live in different places, speak different languages, and come from different cultures and backgrounds, our commitment to our patients is one and the same.
