Tax Deductibility of U.S. ACC Dues

The ACC is a 501(c) 6 organization by IRS definition. College dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution, but may be deductible as a business expense. ACC estimates that 12.8% of national dues are not deductible because of the College’s lobbying activities on behalf of its members.

ACC Chapters are by IRS definition 501(c)6 organizations and dues payments may be deductible as a business expense. The California Chapter is a 501(c)3. Some states participate in lobbying activities that make a portion of their dues non-deductible. Contact ACC Member Care for specific information.

Delinquent Payments

Member renewals are required annually for continued access to the ACC's benefits and resources. Renewals for 2019 are due on Dec. 10, 2018. All payments received after Jan. 1, 2019 will be assessed a $25 late fee. Additionally, membership discounts and benefits will be suspended for those accounts that remain unpaid, including access to member rates for ACC.19 and access to the JACC Journals. Members with unpaid dues for two years will be dropped from the College roll. In order to reinstate, contact ACC Member Care at 202-375-6000, ext. 5603.

Back Dues Forgiveness

The ACC recognizes that, sometimes, life happens, and your dues payment may have been missed this last year or two. For a limited time, ACC is offering the opportunity to reinstate your membership by waiving the previous years' dues owed on your record. If you previously had back dues listed on your statement, you will see them waived this year. If you have any questions, please contact ACC Member Care at 202-375-6000, ext. 5603.
