  4. Assess and manage acute and chronic ischemic heart disease, integrating clinical presentation, risk stratification, and guideline-directed medical and interventional therapies.
  5. Diagnose and treat cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardias, ventricular arrhythmias, and conduction system disorders.
  6. Evaluate and manage acute and chronic heart failure and cardiomyopathies, incorporating contemporary pharmacologic, device-based, and multidisciplinary treatment strategies.
  7. Identify and treat valvular heart disease, including appropriate use of imaging, medical therapy, surgical referral, and transcatheter interventions.
  8. Recognize and manage vascular diseases encountered in adult cardiovascular practice, including peripheral arterial disease, aortic disease, and venous disorders.
  9. Diagnose and manage pericardial diseases encountered in adult cardiovascular practice, including acute and chronic pericarditis, pericardial effusion, and constrictive physiology.
  10. Recognize and manage adult congenital heart disease, including common residual and late-presenting conditions in adults.
  11. Integrate preventive cardiology principles, including ASCVD risk assessment and management of hypertension, lipids, diabetes, obesity and lifestyle risk factors.
  12. Apply guideline-directed pharmacologic therapies safely and effectively, considering comorbidities, drug interactions, and patient-specific factors.
  13. Demonstrate clinical reasoning and decision-making aligned with current ACC/AHA guidelines and evidence, supporting lifelong learning, self-assessment, and maintenance of certification.
  14. Integrate systems-based practice principles by incorporating quality improvement, patient safety, cost-effective care, and culturally competent, multidisciplinary collaboration into cardiovascular care delivery.

ABIM Maintenance of Certification

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 185 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
