By any measure, the College's first-ever, large-scale, truly hybrid Annual Scientific Session was a great success. The most meaningful measure, perhaps, was the sheer joy and excitement that was palpable throughout all aspects of the meeting whether in the halls and classrooms of the Washington, DC, Convention Center or the virtual chat boxes spanning the six virtual ACC.22 channels.

Making the CV World a Better Place

From the standing-room only Opening Showcase session to the closing Convocation, where more than 700 new FACC and AACC members were welcomed to our community, it was energizing and inspiring to be together again.

This month's "ACC.22 Scrapbook"  captures so many of the magic moments that made this meeting one to celebrate and remember. We let the camera do the talking – offering glimpses into the innovation, diversity, science and networking that took place over the course of three incredible days. Within these pages, we also celebrate leaders new, old and aspiring – all of whom are key to achieving our vision of a world where innovation and knowledge optimize cardiovascular care and outcomes.

In addition to the photo journey, don't miss key takeaways from some of the hottest trials presented during ACC.22 and check out some of the numeric highlights from the meeting as part of Number Check. Also in this issue, we hear from Bailey Ann Estes, MSN, RN-BC, RNFA, CNOR, RCIS, on the nursing shortage and its impact on cardiovascular care, and the "urgent need for aligned support from the cardiovascular team, including our physician colleagues," and Sandeep Krishnan, MD, RPVI, FACC, discusses how to build a referral network for a structural heart program. Just in time for National High Blood Pressure Education Month in May, Seamus Whelton, MD, MPH; Joseph Ebinger, MD, MS, FACC; and Eugene Yang, MD, MS, FACC, provide a primer on managing hypertension.

The ACC has also released important new clinical documents over the last two months and this issue offers high-level overviews and key takeaways from three of the newest documents – the Expert Consensus Decision Pathway on the Cardiovascular Sequelae in Adults with COVID-19, the AHA/ACC/HFSA Guideline for the Management of Heart Failure, and the 2022 ACC Health Policy Statement on Building Respect, Civility, and Inclusion in the Cardiovascular Workplace.
