Translating Science Into Clinical Practice: Guideline Optimization

ACC Guidelines App

New ACC and American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines on topics ranging from primary prevention to valvular heart disease will be the focus of a series of sessions at ACC.23/WCC, featuring guideline committee members and other leading experts.

Over the course of the last several years, the ACC has worked alongside AHA to optimize the clinical guideline process from pre-production review through to final dissemination, with the goal of creating guidelines that are more concise, timely, accessible, patient-centered and applicable to clinicians worldwide. In the last three years, six guidelines have been released, with the most recent from 2022 focused on aortic disease and heart failure.

ACC.23/WCC sessions will provide deep dives and discussion around these newest guidelines, with opportunities for interactive discussions on how to implement, optimize and translate recommendations into clinical practice.
