COORDINATE-DIABETES: Coordinated Care Approach Improves Prescription of Guideline-Recommended Therapies in T2D and ASCVD

A coordinated, multifaceted intervention approach to improve prescribing practices increased the likelihood that patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) would be prescribed three classes of guideline-recommended medications by more than fourfold, according to research from the COORDINATE-DIABETES trial, presented at ACC.23/WCC and simultaneously published in JAMA.

STELLAR Trial: Sotatercept Associated With Improvement in Exercise Capacity For Patients With PAH

Patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) who were treated with sotatercept on top of existing therapy experienced significant improvements in exercise capacity, according to findings from the STELLAR trial, presented at ACC.23/WCC and simultaneously published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Low-Carbohydrate High-Fat "Keto-Like" Diet Associated With Increased Risk of CVD

A low-carbohydrate high-fat diet was associated with increased levels of LDL-C and apolipoprotein B (apoB) along with a twofold heightened risk of cardiovascular events, according to an observational study presented at ACC.23/WCC and published simultaneously in JAMA Cardiology.

PULSED AF Pivotal Trial: New Ablation Technology Found Safe, Effective as AFib Treatment

Pulsed field ablation was found to be successful at treating atrial fibrillation (AFib) for 12 months in up to two-thirds of patients, according to findings from the PULSED AF pivotal trial presented at ACC.23/WCC and simultaneously published in Circulation.

Novel, Wearable Device Found to Accurately Predict Troponin Levels in Patients Presenting With ACS

A novel, wristworn sensor that provides a bloodless estimation of troponin-I levels in five minutes was found to be about 90% accurate, according to research presented at ACC.23/WCC and simultaneously published in the European Heart Journal – Digital Health.
