A whitepaper from the CORE Work Group of the International Cardio-Oncology Society (ICOS) sets forth a roadmap for incorporating cardio-oncology rehabilitation and exercise (CORE) into health care processes to improve the cardiovascular health of patients with cancer. Additionally, they review the evidence for the recommendations and the benefits of CORE, as well as future research priorities.

The proposed model outlines CORE-enhanced practices and outcomes for care before, during and after treatment for cancer, including medical evaluation, prescriptive exercise, cardiovascular risk factor modification, education, counseling and nutritional support.
