The ACC Educator: Advanced Concepts course is a master class in educational leadership and is offered exclusively to graduates of the ACC Educator: Emerging Faculty Leadership Academy.

Designed to advance your skills as an educator, this course offers a collaborative and interactive environment where participants present, receive real-time feedback, and engage in dialogue with peers and educational experts.

Building on the foundation established in the Emerging Faculty course, you will be assigned teaching topics prior to the in-person session and supported throughout the program to deepen your educational expertise. The course focuses on refining teaching methods grounded in evidence-based practices, exploring the evolving digital learning landscape, and incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into every stage of educational design and delivery.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to apply your training by serving as a coach and mentor for the next cohort.

Course Details

  • Price A grant from the Michael Wolk Heart Foundation supports this course, covering participants tuition, hotel accommodations, and most meals. Participants or their institutions are responsible for their own travel expenses to/from Heart House in Washington, DC.

Interested Applicants must submit:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • A one-page personal statement explaining how you have applied the knowledge and skills gained from the Emerging Faculty course, why you want to participate in the Advance Concepts course, and what you hope to gain from the course.
Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must have completed the Emerging Faculty Leadership Academy Course and be a current ACC member in good standing.

Selection Criteria and Process

A member-based group will review all applications and make the final selection of participants. A key focus of the review process will be evaluating how candidates have leveraged their Emerging Faculty experience to develop and deliver education and advance their careers. We will also consider what you hope to gain from this new learning opportunity.

Participation is limited to 14 individuals to ensure active engagement and meaningful interaction throughout the learning journey.
