In an unprecedented year that has ushered in significant changes to the way patients are managed and how practices are operated, MedAxiom united a record number of cardiovascular thought leaders to address care transformation during CV Transforum Fall'20 Virtual.

In October, more than 700 physicians, advanced practice providers, administrators, coders, industry partners and other health care leaders took part in three days of interactive education featuring general sessions on today's top-of-mind issues, intimate breakout sessions that took a deep dive into cardiovascular challenges and Pod sessions that provided a forum to share best practices with peers.

The conference kicked off with remarks from MedAxiom President and CEO Jerry Blackwell, MD, MBA, FACC; ACC President Athena Poppas, MD, FACC; and ACC Trustee and MedAxiom Board of Managers Chair Cathleen Biga, MSN, RN, FACC, who underscored that there has never been more MedAxiom member value than now, in large part due to the relationship with the ACC.

MedAxiom Executive Vice President of Membership and Operations Lori Walsh, MHSA, shared that despite the challenges that 2020 has introduced, the MedAxiom community is growing and is stronger than ever. In 2020, MedAxiom has welcomed more than 50 new organizational members and seven new industry innovators. While consulting has shifted from primarily in-person to mainly virtual, the consulting team has been just as busy as ever with nearly 70 impactful projects completed or underway so far this year.

Not only is the MedAxiom Community growing, but engagement has spiked as well. From online education and a suite of publications to COVID-19 resources, MedAxiom has been hard at work developing resources to help cardiovascular professionals navigate the new normal.

Top of Mind Challenges and Industry Innovations

Given the rapidly evolving health care landscape, it's crucial to have a pulse on the cardiovascular community's current top-of-mind issues. MedAxiom polled its membership on the most pressing challenges and designed the CV Transforum agenda accordingly, with sessions ranging from Alignment 2.0, Virtual Care Strategy, Contemporary Cardiovascular Physician Compensation Models, Breakthrough Innovations in Telehealth and Disease Management, and more.

Topics were very informative and provided tools and resources for adaptation to existing models of practice.

Additionally, Partner Pulse, a conversational speed-networking virtual event, connected cardiovascular leaders and industry innovators for thought-provoking discussions on today's challenges and opportunities to advance care.

Connecting From Coast to Coast

Just as practices are rethinking how they are delivering care, MedAxiom redesigned the conference to ensure an intimate and engaging experience. From chat and live Q&A features to a gamification contest and #CVTransforum conversations on Twitter, attendees were able to connect with each other and with thought leaders from across the country.

MedAxiom also united attendees for a virtual social hour featuring live music from Chris Martinez, who entertains at live CV Transforum events. While many things are different this year, the MedAxiom community demonstrated its commitment to transforming cardiovascular care, together, even in the midst of a pandemic.
