The ACC is accepting public comments on geriatric data elements for suggested use across NCDR registries. An expert panel identified a set of core data elements to characterize the elderly beyond chronologic age and highlight competing risks and unique aspects of their care. Including these variables would advance the understanding of the context of care for older adults with cardiovascular disease to support advocacy, education and quality improvement efforts.
