Global Collaboration the Focus of ACC Latin America Conference

More than 1,400 clinicians from across Latin American took part in the ACC Latin America 2022 Together with CardioAcademic in Mexico City and virtually in September.

Co-chaired by ACC Vice President B. Hadley Wilson, MD, FACC, and ACC Assembly of International Governors Past Chair Erick Alexanderson, MD, FACC, the event brought together the Latin American cardiology community to discuss the latest cardiovascular science and examine emerging trends and evidence-based strategies for the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease.

Participants also had unique opportunities for hands-on learning and to engage with experts from across the region and around the world around hot topics like new clinical guidelines, COVID-19 guidance, care of cardio-oncology patients, and more. Valentin Fuster, MD, PhD, MACC, editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, presented the Opening Plenary Session, "New Frontiers in Cardiovascular Health: From the Heart to the Brain."
