It's my great pleasure to welcome you to the Academic Cardiology Section, the home within the ACC for academic cardiology, academic cardiologists, and academic cardiovascular professionals. The mission of the Academic Cardiology Section and Leadership Council is to advance US and global public health, in general and within the realm of cardiovascular diseases, by sustaining and advancing robust activities across the academic enterprise and across the life course, including research, education, mentorship and advocacy.

Dr. Katie Berlacher

Kathryn Berlacher, MD, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and Associate Chief of Education for the UPMC Heart Vascular Institute. She also serves as the Program Director for their Cardiovascular Fellowship Program as well as Director of their Women's Heart Program.

ACC's NCDR is calling for research proposals for consideration for NCDR funding. Proposals should include hypothesis-driven research based upon secondary analysis of NCDR data, with the intent to develop manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
