In patients with a prior intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) was found to be a reasonable treatment, according to results from a study published in JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology.
In a study from JACC: Advances comparing adjudicated registry-reported events captured by the ACC's LAAO Registry with claims data, Kamil F. Faridi, MD, MSc, et al., found moderate agreement with stroke, gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) and intracranial hemorrhage (ICH); however, ICD-10 codes overestimated event rates for most stroke and bleeding outcomes.
Almost all individuals (99%) who experienced a cardiovascular disease event were exposed to one or more nonoptimal traditional risk factor, challenging the belief that cardiovascular disease often strikes people without warning, according to a large study published in JACC.
Acoramidis was associated with a significant 49% reduction in the cumulative risk of cardiovascular mortality or recurrent cardiovascular hospitalizations at 30 months, vs. placebo, in patients with ATTR-CM, according to a post hoc exploratory analysis of data from the ATTRibute-CM trial and its open label extension. The results were presented during HFSA 2025 and simultaneously published in JACC.
Danicamtiv, a novel small molecule that selectively enhances cardiac myosin function, when given in vitro was associated with increased activity of wildtype and dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) myosin, thereby increasing force production in cardiac fibers. The results of the phase 2 open-label trial were presented at HFSA 2025 and simultaneously published in JACC.
