New Year, New Cardiovascular CPT Codes
The ACC, in collaboration with other cardiovascular societies, successfully obtained new CPT codes for 2022 that took effect on Jan. 1. Specifically, two new code sets were designed for Pediatric/Congenital Cardiology.
FDA Update: Inclisiran Approved as Add-On Therapy to Reduce LDL-C in High-Risk Adults
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved inclisiran injection (Leqvio) to be used with diet and statin therapy in adults with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) or clinical atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) who require additional lowering of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).
Guidance on COVID-19 Vaccination For Health Care Staff
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on Dec. 28 issued supporting guidance on an interim final rule, issued Nov. 5, 2021, requiring COVID-19 vaccination for eligible staff at health care facilities participating in Medicare and Medicaid.
